Samsung has yet again launched a new ultra compact digital camera called the PL200. The camera features 7x optical zoom, 14.2 megapixels, digital image stablization and is able to record 720p HD video footage.

The point and shoot digital camera is a budget friendly camera suited for those who are currently short on cash. It's not a bad camera if you require the basics to take photos at the introductory cost of $179.99.

Samsung isn't the best brand when it comes to the wide selection of digital cameras in the market, but they are known for their good quality and innovative design. The camera comes in thee colors; black, silver and red and is available at all good electronics stores.

The Sony DSC-W330 14.1MP digital camera is what I call a small camera with a big wallop. The professional quality Carl Zeiss 26mm 4x zoom lens and 14.1 mega pixels combine to provide you with breathtaking detailed images. For a small camera it has a large 3" LCD - no squinting trying to see the picture, or, trying to change menu settings. If you like blowing up your pictures or making posters, this camera will give you 13"x19" photos that are sharp and detailed.

Equipped with the latest technology, the Sony DSC-W330 has both Intelligent Auto mode and Intelligent Scene Recognition mode. Whether you are taking a portrait, wedding, mountains or sports game, regardless of rain, sun, or, dark clouds, the intelligent features work to provide you with the optimum picture. In auto mode the camera even thinks for you: if conditions are not ideal it automatically takes a second photo on different settings so you can choose which you prefer.

This camera has many features that combine to provide professional quality photos at the press of a button. Eight facial recognition modes, a smile mode, super fast AF to provide instant pictures, image stabilization, motion detection…and so much more.

The Sony DSC-W330 also has video capability. It is a compact 3 7/8" x 2 1/4" x 11/16" and weighs only 4.5 oz with battery and memory stick. A fantastic camera suitable for the seasoned photographer or beginner.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Review

Filed in archive Panasonic on March 11, 2010

Overview

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 is one of Panasonic's best cameras in its top series, the Lumix. This is a rather rugged camera, it with withstand being tossed around, as long as the lens is not open, which could cause some severe damage. With the lens close, the camera is very compact.

Specs

The ZS3 is equipped with a 10.1 25mm Megapixel lens, then extends approximately one inch. Images are captured onto an SD card. The 12x zoom feature includes image stabilization, which is only one of the many built in features. There are over 25 different Scene Selections, such as action sports, night/dark, etc. One of the most useful features is facial recognition, not to mention the ability to capture video media. The audio track to a video is captured trough the two microphones on the top. However, if you have long fingers, the mic will get covered up. The 3 inch LCD works well in most light conditions, including bright sunlight.
